Attorney Alexa J. Kwartin is dedicated to assisting families as they navigate the difficult issues that often arise in family law matters. She understands that family-centered legal matters are very often draining and stressful, and she strives to meet the needs of her clients in a comprehensive and compassionate way. She is a conscientious and experienced attorney whose primary goal is to serve the families of Atlanta as they proceed through difficult family transitions. Alexa practices in most metro Atlanta counties.

Alexa was born and raised in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Having grown up with divorced parents, she has experienced first-hand the complexities and stress involved in family law matters. Alexa tailors her approach to each individual client and his or her family, as all families are different. If settlement is possible, Alexa uses a variety of negotiation, mediation, and interpersonal skills to help her clients reach amicable resolutions. When settlement is not an option, Alexa assists her clients through any litigation necessary to secure the best possible resolution. Alexa has always focused her practice solely on Family Law and has worked with hundreds of clients with family law needs.

Alexa received her Bachelor’s Degree in English and Economics from Emory University in 2008 and received her Juris Doctorate from the University of Florida’s Levin College of Law in 2011. While in law school, Alexa was Chair of the Law School Honor Committee, and received honors such as Dean’s List recognition and a Certificate of Outstanding Achievement for her Pro Bono Work. Alexa focused her studies on family law and earned a Certificate in Family Law.

Alexa served on the Board of the Georgia Association for Women Lawyers (GAWL) from 2013-2024 overseeing numerous large-scale programs with hundreds of participants in Georgia such as a bootcamp for newer female attorneys, the GAWL Leadership Academy, organizing networking breakfasts and lunches, and planning programs regarding Implicit Bias, Personal Finance, Attorney Ethics, and the Kickoff Party. Alexa takes an active role leading several networking and discussion groups in the legal community. She is also a member of the Family Law section of the State Bar of Georgia and the Atlanta Bar Association’s Family Law Section and Solo/Small Firm Section. Alexa was one of a select group of experienced attorneys to graduate from the 2017 GAWL Leadership Academy.

Alexa is passionate about alternative dispute resolution, and serves as a registered mediator and arbitrator. She is available to mediate or arbitrate civil, domestic relations, domestic violence, and probate matters. She is a member of the Amicable Divorce Network, which is a group of professionals who assist clients in resolving their disputes outside of court. She was recently selected as the “Best Family Law Attorney of Perimeter” for the 6th year in a row, and a Super Lawyers Rising Star in Family Law the 9th year in a row!

In her free time, Alexa enjoys spending time with her husband, Zach, and her daughters, Hannah and Vivian, attending art festivals, gardening, crafting and DIY projects, reading, cooking and trying new restaurants, traveling to and exploring new places, and spending time with friends and family. Alexa lives in Dunwoody along with Zach, Hannah, Vivian, Laney (dog), Murphy (dog), and Sabika (cat).
